Let The Bullets Fly- Review + 3 COPIES TO GIVEAWAY!!!

Hello Good people!
Jonny T here with my review of Let the bullets fly due for release by Metrodome Pictures on the 27th of August plus i have been fortunate enough to be given 3 copies to give away to 3 very luck winners! So after the review i have set an question for you all, all details after this review.

LET THE BULLETS FLY

Starring Jiang Wen, Ge You and Chow Yun-Fat In lawless1920’s rural China, legendary bandit “Pocky” Zhang (Jiang Wen) and his gang stage a train robbery. Shocked to discover that, instead of silver, the only thing left on the train is the con man Tang (Ge You). Desperate, Tang explains that he’s on his way to GooseTown, where he’s bought himself a governorship. If allowed to live, he will help Zhang assume the governorship in his place… where Zhang can make more money in a month as a corrupt politician than he can in a year’s worth of train robberies.  But neither realises that Goose Town is already under the iron rule of the wealthy Master Huang (Chow Yun Fat, The Killer, Hard Boiled), whose charming exterior conceals a ruthless, conniving crime-lord.
Thus begins an escalating series of hyper-violent (and hilarious) mind games between the bandit and the crime lord, while the devious Tang tries to play both sides until he can exit the situation…preferably with a profit. The stakes quickly rise to ludicrous proportions in this masterfully vicious, pitch-black action-comedy (China’s highest grossing film of all time), and you’ll be laughing the entire time as double- and triple-crosses, razor-sharp wordplay, and hundreds of thousands of bullets explode across
the screen. DVD Release date: 27th August

REVIEW BY JONNY T.

So the film opens up and we see a shot of a high speed moving train being pulled along by several white horses whilst the lord and lady are basically doing all the rich things eating and drinking to excess surrounded by the finest china and luxuries,  The carriage behind them is packed full of soldiers with muskets pointed out of every available window in case of an attack by lawless bandits, the we get to see the lawless bandits perched up on the hills with guns pointed at the train, one of them takes several shots towards the horses and a couple of seconds pass and nothing happens at which point one of them comments"Nothing has happened" to which the ring leader replies "let the bullets fly" We wait again, 1.....2....... boom! All the horses reigns snap into pieces and they all bolt away, cut to the track somewhat in front of the train where another bandit embeds an axe, the train hits this full force and in a crazy as hell scene does a complete somersault off the track and drops straight into a lake, the bandits have got what they wanted, or have they?
So that is just within the first 5 minutes and boy what an opener it is! We then get to meet the legendary Chow Yun-Fat the wealthy leader leader of Goose Town who it has to be said is not a nice man at all, i don't really want to give too much away but the film unfold that end's up in a brilliantly clever game of cat and mouse as both Chow and the bandit leader try through the film to outwit each other with truly hilarious results, not saying that it is all comedy its got violence and a load of action!I do have to say also that the visual effects are greatly done and it is also brilliant for me personally  to see Chow back in his native Asia making movies again and he certainly hasn't lost any of his charms, showing what a great actor he is as in Hard boiled as a serious hit man through to earlier titles like Tiger on beat that as with this shows off his great range of acting skills, so in summary i would definitely give this one a go, it has to be said it's up there with some of the better Asian films released in the last few years, the end scene alone is worth getting it for when they pull up in a deserted town and try to entice a reaction several times without luck but then..... ah i can't say!! Seek this one out if you can or of course enter the contest below, great stuff!
8/10
