PARANORMAL TV AND ME.

Hello Folks,
Jonny T here with “Paranormal TV and Me”, Now, over the last 2 years I have really gotten into Paranormal TV shoes, It seems that in the USA they cannot get enough of them and I have to say some are good, some are bad and some are downright ugly! I got into them after getting pissed off with UK show Most Haunted, when that first started it was great "Turn your brain off" TV but as it went on it for me became a bad parody of itself, with the ladies involved just constantly screaming then asking “Did you hear that noise” how could we when you’re screaming??? And as for the golden haired scouser that is Derek Akorah channelling to the other side with his Ethiopian ghost friend, the less said about that the better! So I thought one day let’s have a look at see what out there, The first show I came across was Ghost Hunters with Jason and Grant and they went to The Shining hotel and it was great, so I watched all 8 series then looked again and found Ghost Adventures which is pure entertainment gold, I have since found a few more good ones so I have stuck my top ones below so seek them out if you can for those nights of just turn your brain off and enjoy dossy TV, Not sure myself if The Paranormal/Afterlife exsists but it certainly makes for some great TV,
Enjoy,
Jonny T.

So here is the programme that first got me hooked into the whole Paranormal TV genre, Ghost Hunters, From the 1st series we see Jason And Grant working there daily plumping jobs and recieving calls of people need help investigating ghost in their properties, Now the good thing about Ghost Hunters is that they go with total open minds and to disprove what is happening but with some things in the show that even they cannot explain, The early shows see's them with some very basic equipment and slowly builds throughout the seasons with them getting hi-tech equipment to track down those elusive spirits, Over the many series to date we get various members coming and going, some great and not so great, Brian was one of my particular favourites, Scatty to say the least but his passion and humour was great, One episode in particular to look out for is where they visit The Shining Hotel, Great stuff.

Next up is Ghost Adventures, Currently and possibly my personal favourite out of all the shows,Following the ghost hunting adventures of Zak,Aaron and Nick they get some great footage, The great thing about Ghost Adventures in my opinion is the fact that they know how to have a good time whilst doing it especially poor old Aaron the always seems to get the job of spending nights in haunted attics and demon filled cellars often resulting in what now is becoming his catchphrase "NO WAY DUDE!" Great stuff!!I have put below season 1 episode 1, one of the creepiest ones they have ever done, The Super haunted Bobby Mackeys.

Deep South Paranormal, What can you say, IT’S BRILLIANT! Very similar in tone to if you have seen it the awesome Duck Dynasty, Deep South accents, Frogs breath spells, Singing acoustic songs to entice the spirits, basically all round insanity, Just started in 2013 and currently on 6 episodes let’s hope it may long continue, yeeeeeee haaaaaaaa!!

Now on to the “Based upon True events” style shows………..
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paranormal Witness tells the stories and re-enactments of various folks with all manner of not just Paranormal experiences relating to ghosts/demons etc. but also tells some great stories of stuff such as UFO abductions, werewolves and the like! Some truly great episodes some of which have made it onto the big screen, Stories such as A Haunting in Connecticut and The Dibbuck Box recently made into the move The Possession, Another great episode to look out for is The Haunted Hollywood sign where 3 guys and a girl go to the sign, see a ghost, The 3 guys run away super quick and leave the girl to it! Well worth a watch indeed.

Another great “Based On True Events” Style show this time comprising of 2 or 3 different people telling you there ghost stories in the space of 45 minutes, a mix of actual footage and re-enactment’s this has some genuinely creepy moments, although it does have to be said that a lot of the time a lot of people in the re-enactments are skinny and good looking but when you see the actual people non over them usually are below the weight of 20 stone! Still a great show though, if a little too over obsessed with the “ORB” phenomenon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Haunted Collector consists of Family members John, Aimee and Chris Zaffis, Bit of an odd show this one, Takes the format of the likes of Ghost Hunters but the main job of this ghost hunting team is to find what they class as a “Trigger” object at the place where the hauntings are occurring and remove it, Sometimes a little far-fetched and miraculous how they manage to find the things that are apparently causing the hauntings and remove them but none the less still a pretty decent show to add to the list!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So there you go folks, some (well I think) great escapism TV, There are tons more of these type of shows out there and if I find anymore great ones I shall let you know, Don’t have nightmares!
