REVENGE - Reviewed

Never take your mistress on an annual guys' getaway, especially one devoted to hunting - a violent lesson for three wealthy married men.
Director: Coralie Fargeat
Writer: Coralie Fargeat
Stars: Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz, Kevin Janssens, Vincent Colombe

So, I got offered to review a screener for a new film called "Revenge" I read the synopsis and to be honest i just sounded like yet another rape revenge movie, But then i did a bit more digging and saw that it was director Coralie Fargeat's new movie and read some great reviews for it so i thought why not, Emailed them back and i was sent the screener, I can tell you what i'm glad i did!
It's story is basic and tells of a young lady who goes away for a weekend with a married man to a remote location when two of his friends turn up to go on a hunting trip.
The night before they go they all get a little drunk and the young lady starts dancing and flirting wit all three of them.

The following day her man goes off to sort some business and one of the guys from the night before goes into her room and he obviously got the wrong signal the night before but won't take no for an answer, You can guess what happens next.
Her man then returns and she is obviously in a shocked state and tells him what has happened and he basically tells her to keep it quiet and gives her a slap!
After this she goes for the escape and runs into the desert, The three men realising that she may tell the authorities what happened the hunt for her then begins.......

From that moment onward it's pretty much non stop pursuit, gore and violence, There are only 4 actors involved and all of them play great roles, The direction is superb as are the locations, There are bits that are totally WTF moments and a bit silly if i'm honest but there is enough great moments for me to forgive any of the silly bits. One thing that did stand out for me was the transformation of the leading lady Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz from bimbo to full on revenge machine is superb.
Also i mentioned the gore and it is in bucket loads, The make up/Effects are some of the best practical effects i have seen in a long long time.
So in summing up i would say that for me Revenge is one of my highlights of 2018 so far and well worth you seeking out upon its release, Bloody marvellous!
