V/H/S is out now! So everyone is invited to one final event!

“The scariest, rawest horror movie of the year” (Rolling Stone) has finally arrived! The celebrated portmanteau horror ‘V/H/S’ is out today on DVD, Blu-ray and download through Momentum Pictures, so make sure you and your readers do not miss out on this genuinely terrifying and exhilarating "Surefire candidate for cult status” (4*, Little White Lies).

Having already opened ‘Cellar Rentals’ courtesy of Momentum Pictures where a rapturous London crowd were transported back to the heady days of searching through racks upon racks of VHS tapes in order to find that perfect Saturday night scare (see what happened here: http://youtu.be/gSgMb_oSEFs),
we decided that one night in the capital (after a lot of sorrow from people outside London who couldn't come) just wasn't enough, so we are bringing it to you…

To welcome the arrival of a truly “Phenomenal piece of work" (5*, Dread Central), we are reopening the doors to ‘Cellar Rentals’ on Friday 1st February for four hours from 2pm to 6pm via Twitter, where a hosted nostalgia-thon will allow us all to chat about videos of yesteryear, the arrival of V/H/S on DVD and Blu-ray and download plus… the final chance EVER to win a copy of V/H/S on VHS in the UK. We'll be using the #InsertVHS4Fear hashtag from @fetchpublicity so make sure you are there to join in on the antics. Do not miss out! We'll have a link to a store filled with cool retro clips, trailers and more to digest and send you back down memory lane one final time.

Here is a list of the hot topics we'll be discussing and getting all excited over on Friday:

2.00pm Classic VHS Action Movies

2.30pm Teen Horrors

3.00pm Fantasy Classics

3.30pm VHS Comedies

4.00pm Banned and Confiscated Movies

4.30pm Sci Fi Rentals

5.00pm A John Hughes tribute

5.15pm Horror Franchises - The Sequels

Please note the above times are GMT!

Django Unchained Action Figures Banned!!

Hello Folks,
Jonny T here, Now as you may or may not know i love my movie action figures, mainly horror it has to be said so even if i had seen these figures i probably would have not brought them but i wish i had as i recently saw the Broomhilda one sell for over $2000, The reason behind this is that the company that makes them have withdrawn them all and they have been withdrawn by Ebay as they go against their selling policies, so it seems that certain groups haven taken offence to the sale of these dolls and indeed Quentin Tarantino's interpretation of the slave trade, is it right is it wrong?

Now i can certainly see the arguments for both sides but find it extremely hypocritical of sites such as Ebay when you can still by if you so wish Adolf Hitler dolls and Masks and Bin Laden dolls and Masks because of course those items wouldn't be offensive to any race or religion right??? So why not go all the way and ban all the Django unchained merchandise? Posters, T-shirts etc. Plus doing this puts it top of many news stories and promotes the movie even more, Tarantino has yet to comment on the sale of the toys and good on him for not being drawn into the argument, but like i say i do sympathise with both sides. And if me or you did see one cheap you would be more than tempted to buy it i'm sure, but then again would that make us bad people? Crazy world and i am sure the debate will rage on and on and on..........

Great Podcasts-The Corpse Cast.

Hello Folks,
Jonny T here with another instalment of  great Podcasts , this week i am featuring The Corpse Cast, Formerly known as The Cadaver lab Podcast with Mike and Sam but when Sam had to leave the show we all held our breath and waited and Mike being the man he his didn't let us down and  came back stronger than Jason Vorhees and returned with the drummer of  Die Monster Die The one and only Shane Diablo to start The Corpse Cast.
Mike has to be one of the most hardworking man in podcast land, as well as The corpse cast we also get Cadaver Indies featuring the awesome Johnny Krueg(also presented Cadaver Lab) as well as Mike's ton of contributions to other projects such as Douchecast, Horrornews.net and a ton more stuff, Standing at just over 9 feet tall and sporting a sexy bald head and beard he really his Salt lake City's sexy bald Bigfoot, now on to the new co-host Shane Diablo, as i mentioned he is the drummer with the great band Die Monster, Die! And has A voice that can only be described by saying that it is so gravely and gritty that it makes Batman sound like Pee-wee Herman, Rock'n'Roll!
The show is out on a weekly basis and usually runs over 2 hours but don't let that put you off in any way.
It's a great format with a ton of hilarious feedback with Mike and Shane commenting and pausing as they listen to them back(you may occasionally here me on there!) they then review an album of usually metal/classics then on to the films, it really is a hilarious show and the way the format runs it's perfect for pausing and listening to the next section later as i do during various bus journeys,They also have a great Facebook group which has really taken off, Man Boobs, I shall say no more just go join!!!
So Folks please head over to i-tunes, or the site to get your fix of Corpse Cast, i have stuck  the link below for the official site so you can find everything you need there,Do it,  you will have a blast!

Grave Encounters 2 - Review

A film student who is obsessed with the movie Grave Encounters sets out with his friends to visit the psychiatric hospital depicted in the original film.

Director: John Poliquin
Writer: The Vicious Brothers
Stars: Richard Harmon, Shawn C. Phillips and Jennica Fulton

Hello Folks,
Jonny T here with my review for Grave Encounter 2, Yes that's right the sequel to the asylum bound stretchy faced ghost hunting Grave Encounters! Now as you can see from the above synopsis it is about a guy obsessed with the original movie and the fact the it was in fact real and that non of the actors have been seen since the original movie was released, kind of two scenarios that we have seen in movies before such as obsession with the original movie as in The Human Centipede 2 and no cast heard of again after the release as was the case in Cannibal Holocaust. But this by no means distracts from what a great time i had watching Grave Encounters 2.
The film opens up with various people doing Youtube type videos, some saying how great it was some saying it was a pile of shit, we then come to the last video where we see a young guy saying its great and he believes it is real and the actors are still missing, this leads to us seeing some of his and mates homemade drunken/found footage party clips, then onto the main part about him believing and wanting to seek out where the original Grave Encounters was made and to make a movie based around the events, we get in the meantime a few clips of a slasher he is making that is shown in real time and brings a welcome brake from all the shaky cam stuff, so he persuades his Friends that they will go and make this movie about Grave Encounters, he even manages to find out the whereabouts of the producer of the movie and tries to get him to admit that it was real but to no avail, so he returns and secretly films the guy in an interview wherein he kind of admits it was real, this is like a red rag to a bull and the young boy's wanting to make the film now turns into a must make this film obsession.
They find out where it was made bit cleverly by the Vicious Brothers the name is never pronounced just bleeped out and when the do arrive at the Grave Encounters Asylum even the sign with the name on is blurred out.

So they arrive but are chased off rather heavy handed style by the security guard that really flips out when he See's the camera but obviously undeterred they return at night and manage to get in, pre all this happening they have been contacted by someone telling them it was real by sending them unseen video under the user name of "Death Awaits" who said he shall meet them there at 2am, i won't spoil who this is but it's a pretty good twist. They find there way around the asylum picking out locations for camera's that were key scenes from the 1st movie, the bath tub etc.. Then it all kicks off.
I really can't say too much more but the fact that this is a blast, if you have seen the 1st film you will get all the references and more but if you have yet to see the 1st film i urge you to, as a low budget horror the 1st movie hit all the right parts as a great found footage movie and i would say with Grave Encounters 2 The Vicious Brothers have again ticked all the correct scare/comedic box's with all the right parts in the right place, the ghosts/demons are expanded on within the 2nd film as is the back story, so with the film being able to pick fault a itself and in my opinion improve hugely on the 1st this is a very high recommend for me and indeed Gav the big man who also loved it, So The Vicious Brothers are certainly guys to look out for in the future!
8/10,
Jonny T.
