Jonny T here with news of an ULTIMATE boxset for the classic BBC TV series Men Behaving Badly, I really can't believe that it's been 20 years since it started, oh how time flys! I have stuck all the details below of the release that looks like it comes packed with a ton of extras, Crack open a beer and order a pizza, Men Behaving Badly boxset coming soon!
“I shouldn’t admit to this, but I’ve been watching the Men Behaving Badly repeats on TV and laughing like a git!”
Martin Clunes
Men Behaving Badly 20th Anniversary The Complete Collection
On DVD 29 Oct 2012
Wahey mates! The “greatest sitcom in the BBC’s history” and a true benchmark for every sitcom that followed, the sharp, brilliantly observant and consistently laugh-out-loud funny “Men Behaving Badly” comes to DVD in a fantastic 20th Anniversary collection that, for the first time, brings together every episode of all six classic series along with the four specials and the rarely-seen Comic Relief sketches.
Martin Clunes (Doc Martin; Reggie Perrin; William And Mary), Neil Morrissey (Me And Mrs. Jones; Line Of Duty; Waterloo Road), Caroline Quentin (Life Of Riley; Blue Murder; Life Begins), Leslie Ash (Holby City; Where The Heart Is), writer Simon Nye (Reggie Perrin; Flushed Away; Hardware) and director Martin Dennis (Friday Night Dinner; How Not To Live Your Life; Life Of Riley; Coupling), not to mention Harry Enfield and… Kylie!
Flatmates Gary and Tony are your typical “lads”, a pair of irresponsible, politically incorrect and seriously juvenile men who refuse to grown up and whose idea of heaven is sitting on the sofa, drinking lager, talking about women and putting the world to rights while watching Kylie Minogue videos on the TV. The one sobering influence in their lives is Dorothy, a sensible, sharp-witted nurse and Gary’s long-suffering girlfriend. But the dynamics between this trio of friends soon change when a gorgeous blonde moves into the flat upstairs and Tony falls desperately in lust.
An unmissable TV viewing fixture during its initial broadcast during the 1990s and deservedly voted the best sitcom in the BBC’s history at the corporation’s 60th anniversary celebrations, the truly classic “Men Behaving Badly” still stands as one of the funniest TV series of all time, thanks in no small part to Simon Nye’s brilliant writing. This eight-disc release features every MBB moment ever broadcast and amounts to over 20 hours of unreconstructed male merriment. It’s time to get the beers in, order a pizza and watch the telly!

Synopsis:
When she unknowingly picks the pocket of a man one night on the streets of Berlin, small-time crook Lena attracts the unwanted attention of Inspector Tom Serner, a young police detective involved in ongoing investigations into Lena’s victim, a known Russian mobster. Although she manages to escape Tom’s clutches, Lena’s personal situation becomes even more complicated when she later visits an underground nightclub and meets Louise, the club’s owner and the leader of a trio of female vampires that also includes “young” party girl and DJ Nora and former 1920s silent film star Charlotte. Louise immediately falls in love with Lena and decides to transform her, introducing her to a glamorous existence of non-stop partying, fast cars, limitless night-time shopping sprees and eternal life. But it all comes at a price. As Lena struggles to come to terms with the endless killings and attempts to fend off Louise’s Sapphic advances, the bloodthirsty quartet’s murderous activities draw Tom and his police colleagues ever closer.
Where to begin? Four of the hottest female vampires you are ever likely to see, a breathtaking opening sequence onboard a jet, a ballsy heroine straight out of a Stieg Larsson novel, plenty of unexpectedly violent bloodletting, several nail-biting action set-pieces that would sit comfortably in a Bond or Bourne movie, and a truly original scene involving bikini-clad vamps “sunbathing” poolside while drinking cocktails.
“Slick, sexy… compelling and cool.” – FEARnet.com.
“A fantastic looking film with gorgeous sequences and effects… well executed and stylish visuals
accompanied by heart pounding music… delivers high energy entertainment.” – Quiet Earth.

“Twilight has managed to rake in millions while destroying everything a real horror fan may have
enjoyed about the vampire in the first place. We Are The Night manages to bring back some of the
real blood that’s been missing with all those shiny tween vamps and does it with some seriously
gorgeous looking women.” – FilmReel.com.

Jonny T here with my thoughts on The Raid, Well i have just finished watching and feel like i have been beaten up!
The story has a basic premise of a gangland boss (who reminded me of Gary Oldman in Leon) occupying a tower block and living at the top surrounded by CCTV Scarface style and Henchmen also it seems that everyone who inhabits the block is also in with him, It tells the story of our hero Rama (Iko Uwais) who takes up the mission leaving his pregnant wife at home giving everything to fight for when it all kicks off and boy does it kick off, We see the gangland boss at the start at the top of the tower block with 5 guys taped to chairs which are sitting on a plastic sheet, he casually without flinching walks up to them one by one and shoots them in the back of the head until he gets to the last guy and runs out of bullets, he puts the gun on his shoulder and says "look after this for me" goes to his desk drawer, opens it and although there are bullets in the he decides to go for the claw hammer and then takes out the last guy with a massive blow to his head, one mean nasty mother fucker!
So we see the team finally getting to the tower block and under instruction of the head police officer who basically tells them that this guy has taken the piss far too long and now it's time to take him out, enter the block and start The Raid!
So there you have the basic set up, from here on in it is a you may have heard pretty much damn near non-stop action, the police enter the building with great stealth and when the arrive on one of the floors they come across a teenage boy who freezes at the sight of SWAT officers pointing about 20 guns at him, he turns and runs and makes it through the door on the other side where we then see him shout to his friend looking down from an upper floor "POLICE!!" Then there is a fantastic shot of one of the officers shooting and the slow motion bullet going through the door and blasting in to the teenagers neck, The start of the gorefest and action a go-go! This shout from the teenager alerts everyone in the building and word rapidly gets back to the big boss man, who makes a brilliant announcement an the tower block tannoy system saying that anyone who takes out all the police will get to live in the block for a year rent free!
I won't go in to too much more detail about the storyline but it's not a simple as it first appears with a good few plot twists and suprises along the way, Director Gareth Evans and main star Iko Uwais team up brilliantly and the combination of Gareth's stunning camera angles and Iko's stunning martial arts skills make this a stand out head and shoulders above many many action films out there today, When the violence kicks off it is cranked up to 11, it's starts with a ton of gun battles and when the bullets run out we resort to Fists and Machetes, Martial arts and gore galore, That's what made it great for me personally was not just the fact that it was martial arts but with the VERY gory use of weapons and objects from anything that has been smashed up and are to hand is not only clever but done with so much pace and gusto and the editing as in the martial arts scenes is mind blowingly fast.
So in summing up, The Raid is a blast, If you are or are not a fan of martial arts i urge you to watch this now, it's a balls to the wall non stop action gun/martial arts gore fest, and Dear Hollywood if you are listening this DOES NOT need a remake this IS how it should be done,
Jonny T here with sad news that the Odeon Cinema in my home town of Nottingham has finally been given the OK for demolition and green light to be turned into a £35 million office block, now i know a lot of our readers obviously are not from Nottingham but I'm pretty sure you all have great memories of such similar great Cinema's being closed down and replaced elsewhere with huge multiplex's,The death of Cinema.
Now the photograph that you see above was taken by me the other day on my way to work and as you can see the "Danger Demolition" signs are now in place, The building was finally closed in 2001 and there was talks of restoring it and updating to digital projection and sound and even possibly an IMAX but within Nottingham we have a Cineworld in the centre and a Showcase on the outskirts so with them taking all the business it seem that Odeon thought it would not be a sound investment and that was that.
Upon seeing this the other day it brought back a ton of personal memories of such classic films i saw there such as Aliens, Cobra, Star Wars, Jaws, Close Encounters, Back to the Future and Pulp Fiction to name but a few.
Nottingham Odeon Screens 1 then and now
Screen 1 then...
Screen 1 now.
Now when i say "The Death of Cinema" maybe I'm getting old (no comments please!) but going to the Cinema these days just doesn't feel the same and i know it's not going to be the same as when i was younger of course, The feeling of seeing a film such as Aliens in a few newspapers or magazines then catching the Trailer on TV and wondering when it will be on, stealing the local newspaper off my mum and seeing that Aliens started on Friday and was being shown at screen Odeon 1 the biggest screen i was so damn excited!
Cinema today to me feels very formulaic, the way you Que around a pre formed rope barrier with the stink of a Subway and other fast food outlets ringing in your nostrils and no one talking just txting and often stand in the que as probably many of you do looking around and thinking "oh shit, i hope they are not going to see the same film as me!!" Then getting to the ticket desk to be served by a work experience Emo kid that customer service skills are zero, On to entering the cinema where you stake out the best seats in the dark and farthest away from a group of giggling teens with there faces lit up by mobile phones, oh the bloody mobile phones! Even though you have a 60 foot high dancing mobile phone on the screen saying "Please turn off your phone" this seems to have no effect at all!! And where is the lady with the torch pointing you to the seat and also more importantly what ever happened to the lady at the front with the tray of raspberry ripple ice cream and Ki-ora orange? I hope she's enjoying retirement! But in saying that i have still obviously had the occasional great time at cinema of course, Seeing The Final Destination films in 3D and Pirhana 3D films were a great time, it just seems that if you have a BIG movie such as The Avengers you are guaranteed to get some people who don't give a shit about the movie or ruining for everyone else, Rant over!
I did have a Cineworld monthly pass wherein you pay £15 a month and go and see anything you like as many times and for a while it was great, with films such as Stakeland, Zombieland, Drag me to hell etc but it's now got to the point where if there is a new release it gets blasted on every available screen in both 2D and 3D so i cancelled, The main reason was that i am not totally averse to big boom bash crash Hollywood blockbusters but films such as i mentioned ended up just not being shown anymore or if they were it was only on say a Thursday at 10.30pm, There is a Cinema in Nottingham called The Broadway and it's great, my saviour! It does still show good stuff and is the only place now where i get to see the films i like, they have an upcoming horror festival for Halloween so Me, Emma and The Big Man will hopefully be attending that, so to round up it's not all doom and gloom just sad for me to see the final nail being banged in the coffin of the late truly great Odeon Nottingham, R.I.P and thanks for some great great times.
Jonny T.
Below if i have stuck some pictures i have found of the Odeon Nottingham

"If you are, maybe you or someone you know has been playing with a Ouiji board… We're always told not to, of course. We might let in something that we don't want and can't send back. But when's that ever stopped anyone?
It certainly hasn't stopped Annie (Caity Lotz) in this new clip from The Pact which sees her mid-chat with the ghostly presence in her late mother's house. However, this particular spirit turns out to be quite helpful to Annie, giving her a cryptic warning about a possible other presence in the house…"

Four young urban offenders and their care workers embark on a community service weekend in the strange, remote Yorkshire village of Mortlake, which prides on keeping itself to itself. Visiting the local pub, ‘The Dirty Hole’ which serves home-made (and suspiciously hairy) pork scratchings, they quickly realise they’ve made the wrong holiday choice. A minor incident with some local inbred youths rapidly escalates into a blood-soaked, deliriously warped nightmare for all involved and it’s just a case of who will survive, and what will be left of them?

Michael owns Skipton Grange where the majority of the film was shot and worked on set construction and carpentry.
Neil’s HighlightsNeil is a collaborator with Alex Chandon and made a "making of" doco during shooting.
Now then, you really can't beat a good Werewolf film (in my opinion!) and coming to Blu-ray and DVD on October the 8th is Attack of the Werewolves and from the trailer it looks off it's hairy titties! Not just featuring 1 as in usual werewolf movies but a whole mean looking pack as in the awesome Dog soldiers, so i have stuck the trailer and details below and watch this space for a review coming very soon!

The Raid
24 Sep 2012
The breakout, smash-hit action film of the year that blew the minds of critics and audiences alike during its theatrical release comes to DVD and Blu-ray featuring a host of extra features, including a director’s commentary exclusive to this UK release.
Welsh-born writer-director Gareth Evans and Indonesian martial arts sensation Iko Uwais.
Synopsis:
Deep in the heart of one of Jakarta’s most deprived slums stands an impenetrable high-rise apartment block. To most it is 30 floors of Hell to be avoided at all cost but for many of the city’s most dangerous killers and gangsters, including the area’s most notorious crime lord, it is a fortress-like safe house protecting them from the law. Even for the bravest and most experienced police officers it is considered a no-go area.
In a desperate bid to flush these violent criminals and their leader from their haven once and for all, an elite SWAT team is tasked with infiltrating the building and raiding the apartments floor by floor, taking out anyone who stands in their way. Cloaked under the cover of pre-dawn darkness, the SWAT members make their move and enter the block not realising that this is the easier part of the mission. Once inside, it soon becomes terrifyingly apparent that the real problem at hand is surviving long enough to be able to get out again.
It’s an intense, virtually non-stop series of unbelievable fight sequences set to an electrifying kick-ass score by Linkin Park vocalist, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Mike Shinoda and reaffirms Gareth Evans’ reputation as a director to watch and further confirms Iko Uwais’ status as both an outstanding fight choreographer and as one of world’s most impressive new action movie stars. The film was also the winner of the Midnight Madness People’s Choice Award at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival in 2011 and the winner of both the coveted Audience Award for Best Film and the Dublin Film Critics Award for Best Film at the Dublin International Film Festival in February this year, marking the first time in history both awards have gone to the same film.
“This violent, intense and brilliant bullet-fest from Indonesia puts western action movies to shame… a skull-splinteringly violent, uncompromisingly intense and simply brilliant martial arts action movie… completely deranged and completely superb. (Five Stars) – The Guardian.
“A bone-breaking, gut-punching, action movie triumph. The combination of a great premise, brilliantly-inventive direction, incredible fight sequences and spirited performances makes it easy for us to already proclaim that ‘The Raid’ is the action movie of the year. (Four And A Half Stars) – IGN.com.
“Balls-to-the-wall action… quite simply, some of the best, most brutal action sequences ever caught on camera.” (Four Stars) – Total Film.

Based on designs by award winning comic book artist Mark Simpson AKA Jock first appearing in Empire magazine and now exclusive to this Steelbook.
Welsh born writer/director Gareth Huw Evans began his filmmaking career in 2006 with his feature film debut “Footsteps”, released in the US through extreme cinema label Unearthed Films in 2007.
Following up on “Footsteps”, he was hired to direct a documentary for Christine Hakim Films in
Indonesia entitled “Land of Moving Shadows: The Mystic Arts of Indonesia, Pencak Silat”. The documentary was planned as one part of a five-episode series covering the cultural heritage of Indonesia. With his particular episode revolving around Silat, the production would introduce to him the many traditions and cultural themes that made up his second feature, “Merantau”, as well as its lead actor Iko Uwais.
Based in Jakarta, Indonesia since 2008, Gareth wrote, edited and directed “Merantau” with the idea of bringing the Indonesian martial art of Silat to international attention. With a successful string of film festival screenings, “Merantau” went on to be selected as the closing film of PIFAN (Puchon International Festival of Fantastic Films) 2009, was the winner of an Audience Choice Award at Fantastic Fest (Austin, Texas) and was awarded Best Film at 2010’s inaugural ActionFest in North Carolina.

Jonny T here with a super scary sneak peek at The Pact, described as above as The Scariest Film This Year i personally can't wait to see it and bring you my review! I have stuck a link below so click it if you dare!
Enjoy,
Jonny T.
"It shows psychic Stevie (Haley Hudson) under the influence of supernatural forces as she investigates the mysterious goings-on in Annie's (Caity Lotz) late mother's house. It highlights The Pact's great female cast and its great low-key special effects as well as its pervading sense of terror, not a million miles away from that of The Others, The Woman in Black and The Orphanage."
The film's out on DVD and Blu-ray 1 October 2012 after a hit theatrical run earlier in the summer
